Packaging Landed Cost Calculator

Calculate the full cost of a pouch order using your own quoted amounts. Add goods, setup, samples, inspection and shipment costs, then divide by the acceptable units you expect to receive. The result makes it easier to compare offers that include different charges.

Use one currency throughout. Enter zero or leave an optional cost blank if it does not apply or is already included elsewhere. The calculator does not estimate freight rates, duty, tax or currency conversion.

1. Order and currency
For example USD, EUR or GBP. All inputs must use this same currency.
The quantity to which the quoted unit price applies.
Use the quoted amount per piece, not per thousand pieces.
Leave blank to use quantity ordered. Enter your own usable-unit estimate or actual accepted delivery.
2. Setup and order costs
Only the tooling/setup amount charged to this order.
Enter a quoted or budgeted amount; no inspection is included automatically.
3. Shipment and import costs
Enter the amount from your broker or shipping estimate, not a percentage.
Use your own tax estimate. Decide consistently whether to include recoverable taxes in each comparison.

Calculations run in your browser. This tool does not send or save these inputs. Refreshing the page clears your entries.

How the calculation works

Goods = quantity ordered × quoted unit price
Total cost = goods + setup + samples + inspection + freight + insurance + duty/clearance + tax + local delivery
Cost per acceptable pouch = total cost ÷ acceptable units received

For example, if some delivered pouches cannot be used, the amount paid is spread across fewer usable units. Enter the accepted count after delivery to replace an estimate with an actual cost. The tool does not predict a defect rate.

How to compare two quotations fairly

  1. Match the specification. Compare the same dimensions, material structure, thickness, artwork count, features and quantity per design.
  2. Match the destination and trade basis. Note the named trade term and place in each quote. Identify which transport or import charges are already included before adding extra costs.
  3. Use the same cost policy. Include the same categories for each supplier and handle reusable tooling and recoverable taxes consistently.
  4. Record the assumptions. Keep each quote, validity date, shipment estimate and acceptable-unit assumption alongside your saved calculation.

The figures are arithmetic comparisons. They do not assess supplier reliability, food-contact suitability, material performance, shipping accuracy or the application of a particular import tax.
